We Will Not Hide It…

Hi, friend!

I just wanted to take a moment and boast of our mighty God. I know I shared earlier this year that God has pressed the Book of Psalms into my heart, and at the time, I thought it was for teaching through writing. Lately, though, I’ve come to realize that the emphasis on psalms has been just as much for teaching me as it has been for teaching others.

As I worked on preparing for and directing VBS this past week (28 hearts given to Christ! Praise God!), and as I continue to work through the licensing process for opening a Christian childcare and early education center in our church, I just can’t shake the promise of God’s faithfulness from generation to generation. I also can’t shake the reality that, as a generation, we have not been nearly so faithful to God as He has been to us. It is a truth that grieves me, so much so that I pray daily in my church office for God to raise up a generation more faithful to Him, more secure in His truth, more obedient to His instruction than I and my generation have been.

Though the work has been challenging and the hours long, I remember each day to thank Him for the opportunity to come alongside Him as He raises up such a generation, through the ministry of our early learning center (on target to open in July) and through long-standing church ministries like VBS and our kids’ musical programs. I am humbled by and in awe of God’s invitation to join Him in His work, and well aware that it is only in His strength and wisdom and power that progress is made and lives impacted for good.

I cannot shake the call of Psalm 78 to tell our children of God’s mighty works so they might put their confidence in Him. It marries so well, as does all of God’s perfect word, with Psalm 107, to let the redeemed of the Lord say so, and the two have interwoven themselves through my every thought and prayer.

I have many questions in this season related to works I thought God called me to that now seem set aside, like writing devotions for you, dear friend, and creating resources for Christians in education, to strengthen and embolden them in their mission field. I don’t know when or if God will bring me back to those, for the work currently at hand is all-encompassing. But I just want to assure you that God is very much still moving, that God is absolutely faithful to every generation, and that I still wholeheartedly believe in God’s command to let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

I pray for you, friend, that God reveals the manner in which He is calling you to “say so”, to tell of His faithfulness in your life. I pray you embrace His call and commit to never hide God’s mighty works or His steadfast love from any generation, especially future generations. I pray Psalms 107 and 78 tug on your heart as they have on mine, that they light a fire in your spirit to boast of God’s goodness to others that they might put their confidence in Him.

Keep praying. Keep praising. And keep an eye out for the next post. Hopefully, it will be a praise for our opening date at the early learning center!

I’m excited to see what God does with this Learning Center and continuing to pray for God’s leading for you every step of the way.
