Hi, Friends!

I’m working away at getting our church’s new Early Learning Center ministry up and going (childcare licensing is no joke!), and I know I haven’t written much lately, but trust me, God is still pressing messages on my heart.

Just this past week on my way to church (work), I was reflecting on the Teaching Practices that Testify resources for Christian teachers and the Walking in Truth devotional that I published last year wondering what that writing season was all about since it didn’t seem to go anywhere really. I mean, I sold a handful of books online and maybe two handfuls in person at some events, but really, it just didn’t pick up the way I had envisioned.

As I drove, questions like this kept popping up…

Was I done with that body of work?

Was God just letting me do my own thing while He brought me around to doing His thing?

Had I spent all that time writing resources God wasn’t going to use?

And then, as I pulled up the drive to the church, I had this realization which made me half chuckle, half cry, and I choked out an exclamation to God, “I see what You did there, God!”

Now, I’m quite certain anyone watching me laugh and exclaim, seemingly to myself, would have thought I was having a nervous breakdown, but I’d remembered in that moment that I’d never wanted to charge money for what God led me to write or for speaking about what I’d written either. But, I wasn’t working much at the time and I thought I needed the money, so I put a price tag on them and I always felt weird about it.

That morning, I realized God hasn’t set those resources aside never to be looked at again, but rather, He’s given me a different ministry that also provides a source of income which gives me the opportunity to make written resources in paperback for as close to “cost only” as I can get them and to make them free digitally here on psalm1072.com.

When this busy season of childcare licensing and Early Learning Center launching passes, I’ll have time to write again and I can pick up where we left off with new, free Teaching Practices that Testify resources and Walking in Truth devotions, and I’ll have a whole new body of experience to add to them I’m sure.

Sweet friends, God truly never wastes a moment in our lives. He’s working all things for good and for His glory.
