Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus!

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
    the Almighty reigns.

Revelation 19:6

“Hallelujah” is a word that has been used by Christians for centuries, but have you ever stopped to think about what it actually means?

Hallelujah is a combination of two Hebrew words.

Hallel (\ hä-ˈlāl \) means to praise or adore God deeply, and Yah (\ˈya\) is the Hebrew word for God.

So “Hallelujah” truly means to deeply praise God with adoration, joy and thanksgiving.

Hebrews 13:15 tells us that “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.”

In Psalm 107:1-2, the psalmist reminds us to “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy!”

Sweet friends, Jesus’ blood paid the price for OUR sin.

On the cross, Jesus laid down His life to redeem us from the enemy’s hand – from darkness and death.

Romans 10:9-10 says that “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

John 1:12-13 tells us that “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”

Dear heart, anyone who believes in their heart that Jesus is God’s Son and that God raised Him from the dead is saved from eternal death! Anyone who accepts His gift of salvation becomes a child of God!

That definitely deserves our adoration, thanksgiving and joy!

Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus!
