Hi, Friend!

As a worship vocalist at my church, God has placed so many powerful modern worship and praise songs in my heart over the years. While preparing to share the devotions on Psalm 1 with you, a few songs kept coming to the top of my playlist or bubbling up to my lips from my heart.

Since today is a day to meditate on the truths found in Psalm 1 and seek to apply what we learn there about delighting ourselves in the Lord and in His instruction, I thought I’d share a playlist that would make good background music for your quiet time or just to listen to throughout your day.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of song to help us meditate on and remember Your precious words. Lord, we desire to be like trees planted by the water, secure in Your provision, delighted by Your instruction, protected against spiritual fatigue, prosperous for Your namesake. But Father, sometimes our desires war within us, sometimes the enemy’s roar causes us to freeze or flee when we ought to walk steadily in Your way. Strengthen us, Lord. Teach us to stand firm on the Rock, Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Work through these songs today to reveal more of Yourself to us, to bring us closer to You, to give us words of truth to recall when challenges arise. We thank You and we praise You. In all things may You receive all glory, honor, and praise. Amen (Let it be so now).
