October Newsletter

Hello, Friend!

Can you believe it’s been one year since Psalm1072.com hit the web?

There are times I can’t believe it’s been one whole year since God called me into this new season, and there are other times that I feel like this one year has lasted forever.

Isn’t it funny how our perception of time can be so conflicted?

I can’t trust my own perception of time, and that’s why I’m so thankful that God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore!

And though God is always the same perfect, holy, righteous God, I am also thankful that He does not leave me the same. I am thankful that He transforms our hearts and minds daily!

So, what transformations are going on in my life and on Psalm1072.com lately?

What’s Coming in Devotions?

  • Revisiting the “Names of God” series from 2022.
  • New series “Thankfulness in Every Season” launching in November!

What’s Currently Available in Print and E-Book?

  • Walking in Truth devotional series, installment one: God Desires a Close Relationship with Me
  • Teaching Practices that Testify (louder than words!) discipleship resource for educators, installment one: Creating a Peace-filled Place
  • Both available on Amazon: Dr. Andrea N. Lemon, author page
    • Also available for free at-home-printing with reduced color and pages on Psalm1072.com

What’s Going on with Psalm1072.com and Related Works?

  • I’ve experienced some refining and correction from the Lord related to this body of work, and you’ve likely noticed that I have changed the name of the Psalm1072.com site to “The Fruitful Educator”. God has reminded me that He has gifted and called me most of all to teach. Whether through writing or speaking, I was born to be an educator and it is through education that I will “say so” as one He has redeemed.
  • I have also updated my Facebook page from “Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So” to “Andrea Lemon, Author/Teacher“. Psalm 107 is absolutely my anchoring verse, but I’ve felt led to be more open on social media so I’ve adjusted the title of the page to let the redeemed say so more clearly and boldly. I’m also closing the page specifically titled “The Fruitful Educator” on Facebook to streamline the reach of this ministry.
  • I’ll be attending two conferences in the coming weeks. One is a smallish ladies gathering where I’ll be joining a dear sister to lead praise and worship music. The other is a state-wide reading conference in my home state where I will be set up as an author with books to sign and sell. This is a first for me, and, in full transparency, I’m having to lay down a lot of “what ifs” in prayer each day. Blessedly, God is faithful and patient even in our doubt and nerves!
  • Lastly, I’m still developing installment two of Teaching Practices that Testify (louder than words!), subtitled Planning that Gives Students Hope; I had hoped to have it out last month, but time got the better of me and my new hope is to have it available in time to purchase for Christmas.

What’s Going on in My Life These Days?

  • My husband and I moved our middle child into college this past week, and friends, I thought it would be easier the second time around, but it was just as emotionally difficult as moving our oldest into college was a few years ago. We continue to pray for God’s guidance and protection for both of our sons as they complete higher education and for our daughter as she continues through the middle school years.
  • I’m directing our children’s Christmas (yes, Christmas already) program at church. This year our kiddos will be presenting the musical “Operation Christmas Child” by Kathie Hill Music, and we’re excited about the support we believe God will use it to bring to our congregation’s and community’s shoebox collection for the Samaritan’s Purse ministry by the same name.
  • I’m studying “The Battle Plan for Prayer” by the Kendrick Brothers for the second time and gaining so many more insights about powerful, effective prayer this time around. I’ve also returned to “Your New Now” by Nicki Koziarz, and it’s meeting me exactly where I am in this season. For Sunday school, I’m also studying the Book of Romans using a study guide by Dr. David Jeremiah. God has been so faithful to teach me through them all, and I am thankful to these authors and teachers for answering God’s call to pen His messages of love and healing.
  • I’m playing “By Your Spirit” by Kim Walker-Smith and Influence Music, a great deal, as well as “I Speak Jesus” by Charity Gayle. I find I’m in need of the extra reminders that victory does not come by my might or my striving but only by the Spirit of the Living God, only through the blood of Jesus and the power of His name.

Special Interest in Prayer

  • I’d appreciate a special interest in your prayers in the area of:
    • God’s protection and provision for my family as I continue to step further out in faith; it’s been a year since I left a full-time career in educational leadership, and we’d still appreciate prayers that we learn to trust God even better with our finances, and that I improve at discerning what is paid work God sends my way and what is paid work the enemy would use to undermine our trust or distract me from God’s assignment.
    • God’s revelation of His next step for a project to serve Christian educators locally that He has placed on the heart of a Sister and invited me to collaborate on with her.
    • God’s awakening and emboldening of His sons and daughters world-wide and especially in our communities and homes.

If you’re feeling encouraged by the devotions or discipleship resources on Psalm1072.com, please do consider sharing the site or the Facebook page above with friends and family so they can be encouraged too, and please consider clicking like or adding comments on posts, or sending an email to join me in the fight against the enemy’s discouragement; I’ll be sure to respond to help you fight his discouragement as well!

Thank you for your continued support! May God bless you and yours!

Best,

– Andrea
