God Hasn’t Changed His Mind

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:10

I am not a morning person by nature. The enemy knows this and frequently uses the first few minutes of the morning to tell me that there’s no need to get up because:

  • I have no work to go to,
  • working for myself isn’t really employment if I’m not currently prepping a session,
  • I’m not really an author without a publisher,
  • no one will miss my writing if I don’t do it or a book is later coming out than I planned,
  • there’s a lot of other women out there writing and speaking, so I don’t have anything new to say…

Some mornings he gets me to lie in with his lies. I don’t sleep in because I’m too busy feeling sorry for myself and doubting my life choices to go back to sleep. But I lie in his lies until I realize I’m going to be late getting my daughter to school if I don’t get up, exercise, and get showered. Some mornings I lie in so long that I skip exercising and go straight to getting showered.

This morning was one of those mornings. Even after being up for an hour, I’m fighting those same old lies, and I have a feeling I’m not the only one. So, friend, here are two Scripture verses and a quote that I’m meditating on this morning to help me shut down the devil and his attempt to stop me from being about God’s business today. I pray they help you as well:

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
-Ephesians 2:10

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart.” -Jeremiah 1:5

“Not only were you saved and called by His own purpose before time began, He hasn’t changed His mind for a single moment since.” – Beth Moore, Entrusted

Remember, whatever you do, however small you may think it to be or other people, or the enemy, tell you it is, you are a good, good part of God’s master plan and whether you jump out of bed and run into the day or roll off the struggle bus limping into the morning, you are loved mightily by Almighty God.
