As I work with our VBS team this week to prepare for next week, I am reminded that with so many people and so many things to do, there are times that some tasks and some members get less of my attention as director.
Misunderstandings happen.
Balls drop.
Feathers are ruffled.
Patience is tested.
Grace is needed.
And sweet friends, isn’t that beauty of working in the Body of Christ?
As we mature in Christ, we recognize our need for grace more and more and we are better able to give it to others. We learn more and more what love really is, God’s pure and selfless love, and we are better able to love others and ourselves which also tends to make us less competitive and more collaborative.
I know I need grace every day and forgiveness too and all that comes with a Christ-like love. I’m so thankful for the every member of the team that God has put together for this year’s VBS and for their love and grace, collaboration, encouragement, and forgiveness.
From ordering supplies and printing resources, to feeding volunteers dinner, to helping kids with crafts, to getting kids snacks, to teaching them the Bible lesson and scripture and worship songs, to leading them around the building in an orderly but fun way, to preparing a nightly drama for them, to keeping me sane and helping to organize it all, and to all the things I’m sure I’m forgetting…God has blessed our community abundantly with God-honoring Brothers and Sisters to support the sharing of His message next week with 100s of children.
Praise God for He is faithful!
Thank God that love covers a multitude of sins for love and the grace and forgiveness that come with it are needed very much during large endeavors! Truly, we could not function as a Body without God’s love.
