Holy Wednesday

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5

“Hallelujah, thank You, Jesus
I was a prisoner, now I’m not, oh
With Your blood, You bought my freedom
Hallelujah for the cross

And by Your stripes, I’m healed
And by Your death, I live
The power of sin is overcome
It is finished, it is done”
(Hallelujah for the Cross, Chris McClarney)

This song is part of our children’s Easter program this year and I just cannot stop singing that bridge!

Though my sin means I am deserving of that whip, by His stripes, I am healed!

Though the wages of my sin is my death, by His death, I live!

Thank you Jesus for bearing the punishment for my sin!

Thank you Jesus for dying once for all that all might live!

It is finished! It is done!
The power of sin is overcome!
