Christmas Day is only two days away.

Holiday parties have been in full swing for a week or better.

Hostess gifts have been given. Gift exchanges have taken place.

Children (and some adults!) have shaken packages under trees. Peeked into every nook and cranny of the house for hidden gifts. Poked their stockings to see if they contain any goodies yet.

All around the world those who celebrate Christmas are finishing up last minute shopping to find the perfect gift for a friend, loved one, co-worker or boss.

But sweet friend, the perfect gift can’t be bought or made by man or machine. It can’t be packaged or exchanged. It can’t be given by you or by me, but it can be received by any and all.

Every good and every perfect gift comes from above and there is no more perfect gift than the gift of salvation given through God’s grace and the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift that ever was or ever will be. This Christmas may we focus more on giving the Good News to one and all, to introducing them to a gift that will never go out of style or out of date, a gift that requires no batteries or down payments or assembly. The one and only gift that truly keeps on giving: the gift of knowing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
